America, Sweet America
America, sweet America,
How large you are
With your vast landscapes,
And deep, Great Lakes,
Your hills are bedazzled with flowers
And rivers running down your back.
America, sweet America,
How diverse you are,
Mothering your children of every color.
Your children nestle in the cities,
Are cradled in the mountains,
Nurtured in many of your corners.
America, sweet America,
How significant you are.
Your children changed history
Made history, for better and worse.
They continue to make history,
Impacting the rest of the world.
America, sweet America,
You're powerful,
You're precious,
You're beautiful,
You're big,
You are America.

Summer Solstice
Summer solstice is finally here!
The temperature is soaring,
Let’s all dance, smile, and cheer
This summer won’t be boring.
The waterparks are open and the sun is shining bright,
The ice cream truck’s bell is ringing,
The multitudes of evening stars are scattered among the night,
Joyful, little children are merrily singing,
Many people are shopping inside the malls,
The roller skating rinks are full,
Athletes are playing with their sport’s balls,
Student are relaxing from all of their hard work in school,
Children are at summer camp having lots of fun,
Families are at beaches, too,
And there are many smiles under the sun.
I love summer, don’t you?

Ocean
Ocean.
She is big,
Deep,
Lively,
Wild,
Dauntingly calm.
She is a food provider,
Yet undrinkable.
A home for her dwellers,
And sometimes an enemy of land.
She is amazing.
Ocean.
